My Little Rowsdower

Posted by Kitsune at 03:41 0 comments

I love my little rowsdower plushie, he's so squishy and cuddly! Everyone should have a rowsdower plushie and I know there's a demand for them because they're going for a few gold on the auction house. I sold my spare one the other day and my hand was practically bitten off by someone wanting to pay the buyout price of two gold! I was pretty shocked really as the good people of Tremor Ridge aren't really stingy with their rowsdower plushies and anyone can go get one for free.

Tremor Ridge is super easy to find, it's in the north of Algoroc, just follow the main road. When you're there you'll find that the field of fuzzy rowsdowers is littered with mines!

Be careful Mr. Rowsdower!!
If you help the locals clear these landmines they tend to be super grateful and there's a chance you'll earn one of those coveted plushies. Yay!

Runesong Advertising

Posted by Kitsune at 03:57 0 comments

I should probably take a moment to introduce the company I work for. Runesong Advertising! If you have a company or event that could use some exposure we'll help you promote it, don't let Protostar have control of everything! You can find out more about us over here!

(( Runesong Advertising is an IC initiative to help promote RP events and businesses on the Lightspire server for Wildstar ))

Don't let me rip you off..

Please don't let me rip you off.. I hate doing it, I really do but I can't help myself. If you're going to list something at the auction house make sure you're going to get a profit from it, otherwise what's the point?

Here's an example from last week:

An auction for 3 Fancy Hanging Lamps, my house could use some illumination so I checked what the base vendor price for the lights are to see if this seemed like a reasonable deal.

At the time your average vendor would give you 14 silver 78 copper for a single lamp, so the auction current bid was a bit of a steal. Sometimes I'll gamble and enter the bidding on something. However, on this one I bought all three lamps outright for 40 silver, knowing that if it turned out they weren't a good fit for my house I could sell them to a vendor for a small profit (4 silver 34 copper to be exact!)

And that was a small profit compared to other bargains I found on the auction house. Please stop doing this, make sure you list things at above the vendor price. Unless of course you're wanting to give something away for cheap as a charitable act, in which case - thank you kind strangers for my cheap decor items! ♥ But if it's not on purpose, stop it, it makes me feel bad.. but I have poor impulse control..

Flossy!!

Posted by Kitsune at 01:57 0 comments
I just thought I'd take a moment to introduce you to someone very important to me. He's called Flossy, and he is mine, he is my Flossy ♥

This is my Woolie mount, I had intended to get something more.. I don't know equine? But.. look at his face and his gorgeously fuzzy body, how could I not? I called him Flossy because after looking at him for a while and riding him around I really wanted some candyfloss!

He's great to ride and a surprisingly good jumper. When I do get around to developing my plot of land more I will definitely need to set aside a special place for him. I know one day I may get a hoverboard but it will never hold a candle to how lovely my Flossy is (even if he did eat one of my socks for some reason!)

Oh, oh! And guess what? His tail (sort of) matches mine! It's like destiny or something!

Planning my home

Posted by Kitsune at 01:50 0 comments
I have to admit, my home only has the basics right now. I keep changing my mind how I want it to look. One day I'll be planning to make it into a quaint little tavern, the next I want to make a spa and the next I just want to make it into a pillow fort for myself!

(I like pillows and plushies)
While my planning is haphazard there are people out there who have helped no end in getting em to narrow down options, like this guy! He has pictures of loads of decor items and he's improving his database all the time, you should definitely go check it out.

Why I don't visit Malachyte often..

Posted by Kitsune at 05:02 0 comments
I love my friends and the Granok are awesome! But I like to give advance warning before visiting Malachyte. This is her in her rocket-house:

Yep, that's her bed behind her with underwear hanging off of it. I'm all for the freedom to be who you want to be and to do what you want to do and I didn't think I had limits until I took a closer look at that Granok bed of hers..

...I have no words. I'm just going to concentrate on her plushie Rowsdower instead of the camera and light. I mean, I'd be fine with this if she believed in walls.. or locks.. or something that means I might not just walk in on one of her recording sessions!!

Are harvesting plots worth it?

Posted by Kitsune at 05:00 0 comments
Once you get your tail to Thayd and are ready Protostar will be all over trying to sell you a patch of land to call your own. It's all terribly exciting but you may be worried over spending too much money on getting your plot just right.. and trust me your gold will vanish quickly when you have a house to furnish.

So let's take things slow and look at the harvesting spots for your plot first. For a Tier One Mineral Deposit, Relic Excavation or Thicket it costs 1 gold. Now depending how your saving up is going (and how tempting those mounts look to you) one gold may seem like a lot to you but from what I can tell it's generally worth it!

I chose a Thicket for myself, expecting to get some trees to chop down, which I did get, along with a Tanning Rack for hides and a Butcher's Block for meat - I was terribly excited. Protostar really do go above and beyond (for money!). My excitement only grew when I came back thirty minutes later to find a new tree in my thicket - a Galeras Tree! Something I'd never seen in the wild and it gave me Ironbark Wood. I took my wood, leather and meat to a trader in Thayd and got offered just over 1 gold and 4 silver - my thicket had earned its keep in less than an hour!!

Then there's my friend Malachyte, in case the big sword didn't give it away she's the warrior type. she makes heavy armour in her downtime (mostly 'ass-kickin' boots' according to her) so it made sense for her to get a Mineral Deposit. At first she found iron deposits but when she came back later there was titanium and zephyrite. If she took them to your average vendor then it would have taken her a little longer to pay off her addition to her plot (but she'd have still easily done it within a day) but as demand for metal is pretty high right now with like half of the tradeskills using it she went and sold it on the commodities exchange for a healthy profit and once she'd earned back her gold investment she started saving her ore for future projects - I kind of worry what they might be!

I don't really know anyone who gathers relics.. I should try to meet a proper treasure hunter one day! But I can only presume it'd work the same. a gold outlay may seem a fair bit but it easily pays for itself within the time you have it and maintaining it costs even less than your initial outlay, yay!

And what about gardens? I hear you ask. That one is a tricky one. The questions you need to ask yourself are 1) Do I need Herbs/Produce? and 2) How often am I going back to my sky plot? The first question is pretty straightforward, are you going to use what you're growing or are you wanting to just sell the results. If you're going to be selling then you need to go to the commodities exchange and do some serious maths - you might be able to make more over selling the seeds to other people who are more actively farming. Speaking of more actively farming that brings me to the second question, basic plants grow in about 30 minutes and other plants take a while longer, but you need to take a think on how productive you'll be - how often do you intend to plant and harvest? Some people love farming, others are driven nuts by how repetitive it is so choose wisely!

Free Chua-Tech Loading Arm

Posted by Kitsune at 03:50 0 comments
Want a free decor item? Of course you do! Today I'm going to tell you where you can pick up this item:

A Chua-Tech Loading Arm! It's a sort of robotic thingy for lifting heavy things or something, I don't know. What I do know is that my friends Malachyte and Trinket have used theirs on their homesteads so this is what they look like:

I'm pretty sure you can get one of these in Algoroc but as I've never been there I'm going to have to tell you about where in Celestion I found mine and update you later on where in Algoroc they are. The Loading Arms are challenge rewards for two Celestion challenges. So if you do these you have a good chance of getting one (and even if you fail to get one you can repeat the challenges every 30 minutes!)

Both of these challenges Construct Deconstructor and Licking Lolli-Lopps are in the southeast of Celestion:

Construct Deconstructor
This is a very straightforward challenge, only made difficult if there are a lot of other hunters around. All you have to do is destroy the constructs in Exo-Site N22 (go through Camp Viridian to get there). Only constructs count so be sure to only hit things that are 100% metal and you should be fine!

As this is a challenge where you fight things you also have a small chance of picking up extra decor items as drops. When I went to check this challenge to write this I got an extra bonus of a 'Feathered Moodie Mask' from one of the constructs. What he was doing with it was beyond me, but yay! New decor item!

Licking Lolli-Lopps
I like the Lopps, they're fun! In their village of Hijunga you get the chance to go dreamwalking with them by picking up and licking Lolli-Lopps. No, I am not making this up! It's trippy but kind of amazing! You can take any route through the village you like but below is my favourite route as it always gets me at least a bronze challenge reward (provided nobody else is on a dreamwalk as well)

Get Rich Quick Schemes!

Posted by Kitsune at 02:23 0 comments
So, you've arrived on Nexus and you've got all sorts of drams in your head about hoverboards and your very own house in the sky thanks to those catchy Protostar ads. But your pockets are super empty, you only have a few silver and everyone's saying you'll need at least ten gold to get one of those awesome motorbikes or a fuzzy woolie to ride on.

Relax sweetie, everything will work out. The first step of saving up is not stressing, stopping every five minutes to count all your coins is a nightmare and it'll make your time a lot less fun. I am a sucker for 'Get Rich Quick!' schemes, some of which actually work, others I quickly regret and walk away from, so I'll be sharing some of that knowledge with you.

But let's start with the basics of making some Wildstar gold~

  • Challenge yourself. Get to work on some challenging undertakings, and if you're offered a choice of rewards pick what will be most useful to you, or what's worth the most when sold to a vendor.
  • Quests! Just like challenges really. Get out there and help your fellow exiles (or dominion if you swing that way, boo hiss!)
  • When you reach a tradeskills instructor give serious thought to picking up two gathering skills. I myself am a survivalist and a miner. This doesn't mean you won't ever be able to craft anything, you can switch to a crafting skill later and in the meantime harvest every node you see and sell your surplus supplies!
  • Learn where to sell - most of the time your items should go straight to any vendor that will take them off of you. But! When you hit Thayd you should check to see what the going rate is at the auction house or commodities exchange. For example, I currently sell my wood to a vendor and my metal to the commodities exchange as metal is in much higher demand and I make more money that way. But please, please, please make sure if you're using the auction house or commodities exchange that you'll be making profit after a percentage is taken off of you.
  • If you are at the auction house and commodities exchange, check it out for bargains. I'll tell you more about that later if you're not sure! ♥
  • Don't salvage things. That can be left until later and you'll generally make more money out of selling the base thing.
There's probably more, but I think those are a good start, right? Just have fun with it all and save up a little and you'll be surprised how much the money adds up. I'll be back with more later!

Howdy!

Posted by Kitsune at 08:37 0 comments
Howdy! I'm not sure how you found me or my ramblings but I'm glad you're here. I love exploring Nexus but it does get really lonely sometimes. So I thought I'd start jotting down my thoughts in the hopes of making something useful.

..but now I'm not sure what would be useful..

I'll be back! With more competence, and shiny ideas! Just you wait right there!
